2020 was a year of reflection. We looked at our priorities very closely.
2020 was a year of helplessness. We could make our loved ones sick by just visiting them.

2021 is the year of the paradigm shift. We all want different things now.

This is how Excal Design was born. We decided to re-imagine the future. To include a perspective that is new, but has the old hope and exuberance of a pre covid era.

Creating value since 1994

Excal Design is the brainchild of Tom Rissman, the President & CEO and Shubhra Bhargava, who is the head of the Design division within the organization. We have built our current services based on our team's experience and 25+ year history. Our technology group has been in business since 1994.

Inspired by the success of the Re-branding and marketing of the parent company as ExcalTech®, which resulted in overall business growth, better brand recall and increased revenue. Tom and Shubhra decided to create Excal Design as a separate entity to help other organizations with achieving similar growth.

Leadership

President and CEO

Tom Rissman

A serial entrepreneur, Tom is committed to helping businesses tap into their potential through Excal Design. He graduated from Cornell University in 1979 and from The Law School at the University of Chicago in 1982. He has extensive experience in contract law, information technology, railroads and related products and in international transactions.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys experimenting with new products, business ideas, traveling and spending time with his family.

Chief Design Officer

Shubhra Bhargava

Shubhra has held leadership positions both in the US and emerging markets like India. An architect by training, she is a branded-environments specialist with experience in design, CMS, User Interface, general management, brand and retail identities. Some of the brands she has worked with include, Levi Strauss, United Colors of Benetton and Reliance Retail.

Shubhra has successfully conceptualized and launched several brands from scratch in multiple categories. She has worked on Go To Market strategies, for both startups and billion dollar companies in industries such as security services, technology, consumer goods and luxury brands.
